Tax bill and drivers license required for proof of residency
 
Items Accepted:
  • commingled recyclables (glass bottles, plastic bottles, aluminum and tin cans and aerosal can)
  • paper items (junk mail, newspaper, computer paper and corrugated cardboard)
  • metal items (refrigerators, washing machines, dryers,metal fence posts, swing sets and ect.)
  • concrete-call before coming 732-451-4060
  • electronics (computers, monitors, printers, tv's, cell phones and copiers)
  • used clothing
  • brush
  • leaves
  • household items (couches, tables, bedding, etc.)
  • car batteries
  • barbeque propane tanks (must be empty)
  • paint cans (latex, oil base, and boat paint)
 
Items not accepted for drop off or Bulk pick up:
  •  Construction material-roofing shingles, sheet-  rock, siding, plywood, 2x4's, etc.
  • Remodeling material-tile, trim, doors & windows, decking, etc.
  • Wooden Sheds

Public Works NO longer accepts household batteries.
  • All household batteries must be thrown in the trash
  • The County (New Hampshire Ave., Lakewood) will accept rechargable batteries from homeowners beginning on Feb. 1, 2010.
  • Rechargable batteries can be found in cordless power tools, cell and cordless phones, laptop computers, digital cameras, two-way radios, camcorders and remote control toys.
  • Rechargeable batteries can be recycled at the following retail locations:  Radio Shack, Best Buy, Staples, Target, Office Max, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears, Walmart and Verizon Wireless.
