The bid opening will be conducted by at least two members of the purchasing department, the presiding officer and a recording officer as well as a member of the Township Clerk's Office responsible for bringing all bids received by the office to the opening and to record the bid results. Minutes before the opening you will be asked to take your seats and to turn off your cell phones or place on buzz. You will be instructed to take any calls outside of the room. If the bid has multiple line items, a request may be made to the attendees if reading the total bid amount only will be acceptable in the interest of time. At precisely the time indicated in the notice to bidders, the door to the room will be closed and the opening will begin with a brief legal statement followed by a call for bids. Once the call for bids has been closed no further bids will be accepted. The Clerk's representative will then begin to open each envelope in turn and hand the contents to the presiding officer to be read. After all bids are read the proceedings shall be closed. Anyone wishing to review any of the bids will have the opportunity to do so at this time. No determinations regarding the award will be made at the opening.
