FAQ
By virtue of the fact that the Office has a Qualified Purchasing Agent as certified by the Department of Community Affairs, Division of Government Services, the Township is authorized to maintain a bid threshold of $25,000.00. Anticipated purchases of $25,000. 00 or more per calendar year in any category such as motor vehicle parts, printing services, purchase of police cars, computers, road construction, snow removal, etc. must be acquired from a state contract, county contract, cooperative contract or a formal bid by the Township. Only bidders awarded such contracts are eligible to provide those good or services. Anticipated purchases between $3,750.00 to $24,999.00 per calendar year in any category are solicited by an annual Request for Proposal such as car wash services, welding services and beach badges. You must be the low bidder in full compliance with all aspect of the proposal to be eligible to provide those good or services. Unanticipated purchase requests from $3,750.00 to $24,999.00 are required to have at least two quotations from different vendors. Usually in this case, time is of the essence and solicitation is done by phone and fax to quickly expedite the order. Individual purchases under $3,750.00 are purchased from our usual, reliable vendor base many of which have been first utilized from state contract listings and Township bid lists. In all cases the vendors contacted are usually from our bidders list, state contract awards, internet and yellow pages.
