The Brick Township Department of Public Works is responsible for some of the most important services provided by the municipal government. These services include garbage and recycling collection, maintenance and repair of township roads and sewers, snowplowing of streets, leaf and brush collection and among many others.
The Public Works department is comprised of various divisions and crews including Solid Waste/Recycling, Road and Pipe, Brush and Litter, Vehicle Maintenance, In-House Construction and Building and Grounds. The office is staffed with top shelf citizen service representatives.
The Brick Township Department of Public Works collects recycling in accordance with Ocean County’s new paper stream recycling program. The guidelines for the program are as follows:
Single stream recycling. The following items can now be placed in the same container with a lid.
Junk mail, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, computer paper, empty brown paper bags, school papers, glass, tin cans and plastic in same container.

same day pick up
do not bundle or tie paper
no cereal boxes, pizza boxes, plastic bags, paper plates or trash
shredded paper-place in brown paper bag and put in container
oversized cardboard will be picked up separately

Glass bottles
Plastic bottles-the neck of the container must be smaller than the body of the container-(milk, soda, detergent and shampoo)-NO automotive or pool products.
Recycling container with a lid-no larger than 30 gal and maximum 35 lbs.

The Department of Public Works is located on Ridge Road. Hours of Operation are Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.
The Recycling Center is located at the Public Works complex on Ridge Road and is open Monday – Saturday 8:00 am – 3:30 pm. Resident may drop off recyclables, concrete, electronics, brush, etc.

Director Glenn Campbell
Glenn has been a resident of Brick township for over fifty years. He and his wife Vieno enjoy living in Kingfisher Cove with their children Colin and Erica.
Glenn has a BA in Political Science from Monmouth University, is a Certified Public Works Director and has fulfilled the course requirements for Purchasing Agent. Glenn brings an extensive background in customer service, which he will emphasize at Public Works.
During his prior five year tenure at Public works, with the safety of the residents and employees as the primary concern, Glenn implemented a new deicing system, streamlined routes for salting and plowing and oversaw a 5.1 million dollar finance program to rebuild the vehicle fleet. He also obtained grant money to fund recycling education programs, which will continue with Glenn as Director.
Glenn coached for Brick American Little League for over twenty years, sharing much of this time with his manager father, Jim Campbell, (of the "go-go" White Sox), he also volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, and enjoys boating and golf.
