The extended LIHEAP application period will close on May 28, 2010. As of May 29, 2010, clients may apply for NJ SHARES if their gross monthly income ranges from 176% to 400% of the Federal poverty level (FPL) and they have not received a LIHEAP benefit this heating season. NJ SHARES agencies will refer to the USF chart in their agency training packets to determine income eligibility. Questions on how to use the chart can be addressed to outreach@njshares.org. Clients may be referred to the Universal Service Fund program if they are at 175% of Federal poverty or below. To apply for USF, clients should call 1-800-510-3102.
