French’s Landfill, a.k.a. McCormick’s Dump, a.k.a. Brick Township Landfill, is a closed landfill owned by the Township of Brick in the Herbertsville section of the community. Due to groundwater contamination, the landfill is has been listed on the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Superfund List. To protect nearby residents, the Township and the NJ Department of Environmental Protection have banned the use of groundwater within one mile of the landfill.
