The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for enforcing property maintenance ordinances which protect public health and safety of residential and none residential structures.
The Township of Brick adopted the Boca property maintenance code 5th addition in 1996 which requires owners to register all rental properties and make application for a Rental Certificate of Occupancy. Inspections are performed by the Code Enforcement Officers prior to tenant occupancy.

He is licensed as a New Jersey Master Plumber, Construction Official, Plumbing Sub Code Official, Class One Plumbing Inspector, Class One Building Inspector, and Mechanical Inspector for one and two family dwellings. Mr. Newman is a member of the New Jersey Plumbing Inspectors Association and the Municipal Construction Officials Association of New Jersey. He began working for Brick Township as a Plumbing Inspector in 1994 and has served as Construction Official since 2002.
